AoA Clinic launched
giribe, kenya, Jan 2025
In rural Giribe, Kenya, access to healthcare was a life-or-death struggle. Residents endured perilous journeys on rough roads to reach distant hospitals, often with tragic consequences. Angels of Africa addressed this urgent need by building the Angels of Africa Clinic in Lwanda Achiel. Community volunteers rallied, contributing labor and resources—from clearing land to laying bricks—to construct the clinic, which features a covered waiting area, a pharmacy, and a consultation room for private medical assessments. The location name, Lwanda Achiel ("One Rock" in Luo), honors the area's prominent rock formations and symbolizes the clinic's role as a pillar of strength in the community.
The grand opening celebration was a joyous occasion, filled with blessings, music, and the distribution of free tree seedlings, signifying growth and a healthy future. As 2025 begins, the clinic is finalizing preparations, including painting the walls, installing pharmacy shelves, and fully launching operations with a full-time staff member already in residence.
Angels of Africa envisions expanding the clinic into a fully staffed urgent care center and eventually a hospital, ensuring no one suffers due to lack of accessible care. With both the clinic and its existing community water commonly referred to as "Well House", Angels of Africa's mission—born from necessity—is transforming village communities in Migori Kenya, thanks to community support and generous donors.
